Sam:

Welcome to Mental Break it Down, a podcast for therapists and the therapy curious, where we dig into all things mental health and mental health adjacent. We're so happy you're here, let's jump in. Great, we're doing it. Hi, hi, we're here again. All the time we live here now, welcome home.

Sonia:

It is like my second home. I love being here. Me too it's great, I love our office.

Sam:

Yeah, I mean, just look at this.

Sonia:

It's beautiful. It's beautiful. We did a good job.

Sam:

We did, and everybody says so and I believe everybody else yes, and also me mostly, and me Delulu.

Sonia:

Delulu, but in the best cute way. But honestly, it is a really nice office. It's inviting, the vibes are right, it's calming, it's soothing. You want to be here, I want to be here.

Sam:

You want to be here. I want to be here. I'm looking at you, sony. I'm looking at them. Oh Camera, we have office space rental available and also come be our clients.

Sonia:

And also come visit.

Sam:

Yes, yes, but please tell us, because the door is locked and you can't come in unless we say yes, sonya, yes, samantha.

Sonia:

Oh no, she's thinking.

Sam:

I know it's very hard, it takes a long time, so bear with me. Have you ever heard of the podcast Best Friends? I think I have, with Nicole Byer and Sashir Zemaita.

Sonia:

I have heard it. I have heard about it from you, but we are both struggling with enunciation today.

Sam:

Yes. So I'm obsessed with Nicole Byer because I think that she's just very authentic and hilarious. She is funny. And her and Sashir are best friends and it's just Sashir. I have such a hard time with the S's. It's insane Tongue ties. She was on SNL Right.

Sonia:

I remember. You know I have a terrible time with names and faces. I got to meet them several times.

Sam:

But Nicole has several podcasts, one of which is called Best Friends, where they are on together and then sometimes it's just them and sometimes they interview other best friends separately with the same questions to see if they're still allowed to be friends. Okay, which is what you're bringing to this today, one of the questions from their questions. I'm bringing in, okay, out of the two of us. Are you familiar with the show, the premise of the show, survivor.

Sonia:

Yes, I watch season one only.

Sam:

Okay, great, well, you understand kind of what it is. So if we were both on Survivor, like, who do you think would win?

Sonia:

You and why.

Sam:

You, why you actually wait, why, yeah, why such a quick me Wait?

Sonia:

I think you have the skills like sewing, killing things for food foraging.

Sam:

So you think I could do a murder?

Sonia:

I think you could murder something, cook it and make it delicious, because you're a fantastic cook, thank you. And you can sew, which I can't. I can, I'm fine. Sure, you can do those things right In an apocalypse.

Sam:

We've talked about it. I can create, you can create Sure.

Sonia:

I can create absolute necessity.

Sam:

Okay.

Sonia:

And so I can. I just think you're better and faster at it. So in that sense, if we're just looking at skills and like survivability, Like if Survivor was more of a survival show.

Sam:

Yes, okay.

Sonia:

I think it would be you. Okay, now, if we're talking, this is terrible, I'm going to say this Do it.

Sam:

If we're talking mind games, that's the part, I think, that I would be terrible at.

Sonia:

Right no-transcript.

Sam:

I think I got that lockdown. I think you thrive.

Sonia:

I think yeah, if it has to do with emotions and mind games. I am this is not me saying I play mind games, but if I-.

Sam:

You are a delicate emotional realms. You are a delicate, tactful hummingbird.

Sonia:

Yes.

Sam:

And I am a rhino. I am the bull in the emotional China shop. I can be very much like. Oh, the problem here is that I can't hide what my face does.

Sonia:

Yeah, I'm constantly telling you, Samantha, fix your face, fix your face.

Sam:

Because if I am upset with someone, you're gonna know If I'm saying what the fuck you talk.

Sonia:

everything is on my face those eyebrows so expressive? Why do you think I?

Sam:

got this line here. It's from all my judgments and I make no face, it's silent.

Sam:

See you are, I'm gonna choke. Don't choke, I'm so upset. See, you're tactful and controlled, where I do not suffer a singular fall and I have no patience to waste my time placating you in your stupid shit. You're saying and I can see through your emotional manipulation and I will not one-up you, I will just destroy you publicly. I would be out. Everybody would like have yes, what is it? Alliances against me? Sam doesn't know how to play the game. I think you would absolutely thrive.

Sonia:

If the game was that the game is mostly that. Okay, then see, that's a thing, then it's me, sonya's winning, it's you.

Sam:

You're gonna play the game.

Sonia:

I'm gonna play the game. I will attempt to play the game. The challenges oh, I just got too close to the mic. The challenges I think you would win. Oh, I'm weak.

Sam:

I'm weak. Now I've gotten weaker.

Sonia:

But not weak of character. Thank you, just physically weak, Weak of body.

Sam:

Thank you.

Sonia:

I think you would be phenomenal in the challenges. Thank you, but the behind the scenes. I got it locked down, baby. You absolutely do.

Sam:

I have a reckless abandon for my personal safety. Yeah, and I also wanna be the one that fixes and does things, so get out of the way. I have a solve for this problem.

Sonia:

Correct and I'm scared of breaking my teeth.

Sam:

Why is it teeth?

Sonia:

I don't fall in and break your teeth. I was like what am I doing with teeth right now? It's always my teeth. I'm so scared of breaking my teeth, okay, cause I'm like that is painful and awful and also just it's a feeling you have creepily, perfectly white teeth where I have chewed on a Lebray piercing for too long.

Sam:

I'm still in the middle of orthodontia. There's lots of coffee going on in there. I would also be afraid if I were you to ruin my perfectly white, straight teeth.

Sonia:

It's just okay. Yes, I understand the fear. Yeah, it's just.

Sam:

You know some of those but you will be behind people's backs. Be like you shouldn't take that. You should say something. Did you hear what she said? I'll totally form an alliance with you. I'll totally form an alliance with you also.

Sonia:

Yes, that's what I was gonna say. Nobody want to faced. If you need to be, if I need to be, hey, I'm playing the game. It's a game, I am multi-faceted. You don't tie anything. Ooh, she's got depth Layers. I'm a croissant. Call me a croissant. She's buttery flaky and vengeful Layers on layers, on layers. Okay, that's what I got.

Sam:

Fair, so together we're a very good player.

Sonia:

We would win together if there was-.

Sam:

Cause no one can tear this asunder. I know, no, you're not forming an alliance with me. I'll make you think that I'm gonna betray Sonia. I'm not gonna Never.

Sonia:

Spoiler alert Don't do it.

Sam:

I might, for fun, just for a minute, just to see how you'd react. Panic Manipulation.

Sonia:

It'll be fine Together, we have that show down.

Sam:

See, this is what I think makes a good friendship when, if you're put the two people together, if they make like a whole, like a complete person that can handle most situations, then that's great.

Sonia:

I think that says for partnership too, absolutely, or multi-partnership. Hey, if you and a Polly relationship, great Love it If you just work together really well.

Sam:

People should like, not should, but it's beneficial if people compliment each other in those ways. Where I am, I have room for growth. You already got it, so yeah, I love it.

Sonia:

You're patient, I'm not. I am not patient, no, I'm just saying what I was like, maybe actually I am.

Sam:

In some respects I'm actually more patient than you for some things, for some things I like to say. I don't suffer fools. I suffer select fools. Yes.

Sonia:

I suffer no fools Special beautiful fools. Yeah, exactly, we compliment each other. I'm not a perfect human being. None of us are. I'm gonna lack in some areas.

Sam:

Working on it. I'm not saying it's perfection, sonny. We've talked about this how many times I know.

Sonia:

Get it together To say Like I just said, I'm not perfect. Yes, so survivor. If you want a train wreck, call us.

Sam:

We will play, but not well, enjoy.

Sonia:

Yes, I'm on a good TV because I'm an absolute chaotic fool, so enjoy, I have always thought that if you and I had a reality show, I don't know if it would be great or if it would be awful.

Sam:

It would consist 90% of us having our hair up and wildly bobbing our buns while screaming things at the tone to the beat of our bun bubs. If you can see me on video, I'm doing it, but I have two low space buns, so it doesn't count.

Sonia:

Yeah, and I got my. You got it High bun today. Shake that bun.

Sam:

Shake it. Shake it like you mean it. That's no, I wasn't what I was looking for.

Sonia:

I didn't give what it needed to give, Consistently disappointing. I know I'm sorry.

Sam:

It happens that if you were truly sorry you would stop and do what.

Sonia:

I wanted you to do.

Sam:

If you were truly remorseful, you'd change your behavior.

Sonia:

Do you know my favorite kind of apology? Hmm, I'm sorry if you got upset, I'm sorry if you felt hurt, I'm sorry if Insert whatever.

Sam:

The if no.

Sonia:

Responsibility. No, that is not an apology. Just say I'm sorry that I hurt you. I'm sorry that I said this. The if just kills it. It's a non-apology. If you're going to apologize, just apologize, own it, own it. You made a mistake, you hurt someone or you, whatever it is, just apologize, it will be received. You have some integrity. Yeah, I'm not going to guarantee, but chances are it's going to be received better than the if I hurt you, if you felt this way, if you thought this. No, they felt it. Yes, they're in pain.

Sonia:

They're feeling hurt, unless you're on a survivor, then hit them with the petty, okay, form those alliances and when that money gets that bag.

Sam:

Manipulation station.

Sonia:

What are we getting into today, Samantha? What do you want to?

Sam:

get into. You had something that you were going to bring, did you forget? No.

Sonia:

Yes.

Sam:

I did, I did forget. So I have been desperately trying to figure out how I can learn tarot cards Right, because I'm like I have to memorize like 78 cards.

Sam:

There has to be like connections, there has to be similarities, right? So I can make a brain system out of this, because I can't just come out here, try to do this just off the bat and be like oh willy nilly, yeah, oh willy nilly, and it's for myself, because I want to be able to just pull a card and I have to grab a book or a reference. I want to do it to more like intuitive how I'm feeling with a basic foundation of the cards. So I I Googled for hours last night what was that word? Googled, I Googled, I Googled, I Googled, I Googled, I Googled, I Googled. None of those.

Sonia:

None.

Sam:

I was trying to say Google fancy. None, I Googled, I don't need that look from you.

Sonia:

So you googled a bunch of things.

Sam:

I googled a bunch of things.

Sonia:

And what did you find?

Sam:

I found, from different resources, a way that my brain makes sense of what everything means, and then I wrote it in my own words and I actually think that it makes sense and it might make sense to you. So I wanted to bring you my quote unquote system and just tell you what I discovered. Are you OK with that? I consent, ok. Brief overview of tarot cards. They've been used for hundreds of years to help tap into our intuition, google it, googled it so, and figure out more about it. I'm not going to go there here, but essentially you have the major arcana and the minor arcana, and the major arcana is the fool's journey and its cards 0 through 20. Also, I retaught myself Roman numerals because I forgot 22. I don't know how many cards is that One, two, three, four, five, six, eight, nine, 10. Yeah, 22. This is going well, congrats, thank you.

Sam:

And so that's major, like the bigger life transitions, challenges, upheavals, joys, right, the bigger things in life. And then the miners are more like day-to-day stuff. There's a lot of cards and there's also four suits, and so essentially the miners have four suits, so it's pentacles, cups, swords and wands or the suits. And then there's cards 1 through 10, which is another journey, so a beginning 1 to completion 10. And then the court cards, right, and so I'm going to try to articulate something I just developed here. It's going to go poorly, but I think that you're going to vibe with it, ok.

Sam:

Ok, we're going to look at the miners, which is the ones, that's most of the cards, and sometimes I have the most trouble remembering what those actually mean. So the cups, swords, wands and pentacles yes, so cups is like the emotional realm, swords is like the thought realm, so the interior mental space. Wands is like the physical realm, so our environment and our body and what we do in the world. And then pentacles is the material world, so money and things like that. For some reason it was hard for me to categorize that, so I put it into what we quote unquote. So cups is what we feel, swords is what we think, wands is what we do. And then pentacles is what we have.

Sonia:

Oh, OK, so that works better for my brain too. Cool yeah.

Sam:

So essentially it's the topic of the minor card that pulls up.

Sam:

So you have the suits as the topic and then you have the 1 through 10 cards you can connect it to. Then that has different meanings but they're the same throughout the suits. So 1 means pretty much a similar thing throughout all suits. Ok, so 1 of cups is kind of the same energy of 1 of swords. So it's the beginning of a new emotion, like a reflection, anyway. And then you get into the court cards. So there is, what is it? The page? The knight, the queen and the king. It's not necessarily gender specific. I equate it to ages. Oh, ok, so the page is a learning child. So, yeah, yeah, yeah, pages. Is there not really the master of anything right? Hasn't really gotten anything aligned, just there to learn, right, just starting on their journey of learning. And then the knight is the rambunctious teen. So it's chaotic. It's Sam, great, thank you, I mean absolutely yes.

Sam:

So one minute they're in a great mood, one minute they're not, like they're trying to understand their emotions and where they are. And then the queen is essentially just like the inward adult. So it's like the inward world that we're radiating out. That's the vibe of that card, the energy of the card, and then the king is the outward imposing energy, the outward adult. So the energy is going outward instead of inward. Does that make sense?

Sonia:

I think for me, I just need more practice yeah.

Sam:

So I categorize it more like so the suit is the topic of the card, the numbers of the focus and then, if it is the focus of the topic, and then the court cards are the energy that is either you or someone around you or just in general of the card. So say, like we grab, let's see. I mean we could just grab a card, but anyway, so there's a numerology to it. I know that all the cards have numbers to them, but there's actually a connection on how to remember things. So I try to come up with a mnemonic device. Ok, go for it.

Sam:

Have I lost you yet? It's a lot. It is a lot.

Sonia:

I'm reaching information overload.

Sam:

Yes, and I think it'd be actually helpful for me to share with you my little diagram thing, but I'm very happy about this.

Sam:

So the terronomerology is essentially, no matter what suit you pull, the numbers mean something similar and it mirrors kind of the fool's journey, where one is the start of something new, ten is the completion of the cycle or the completion of that journey, and so it's like came up with mnemonic devices.

Sam:

So one equals new beginnings, so it's like a sun, one sun rising possibilities. And then two is like a relationship, it's a partnership, so it can mean two people, or working together is a partnership, so it's two singers, harmony, so that's how I remember it. So I need a mnemonic device to try to help me connect things so I can see it in my head, because people visualize things differently and I'm visual like a video and a picture kind of situation, yes, and like three, so three is a crowd, three stands for a group, a collaborative, collective, and then four, so four legs of a table, the four pillars, so that means stability and foundations. And then like five wins, wins of change. Fives mean change, so a shifting of whatever card suit that comes up as. And then six hands I remember it because I tied into the three, so it's like six hands holding things together because, that is cooperative harmony, so that's communication in a larger group.

Sam:

And then so it's kind of like the two singers and the three, so it's the partnership in the group, but it's also the harmony part of it. And then seven mirrors. Seven is reflective knowledge Ooh, right. And so that's like assessment, reflection, looking on what's going on, being introspective. And then eight is like and I always hate this word but I can't find another it's a mastery, right. So eight looks like an infinity sign. And that's the mastery, like you keep doing the same thing. You've practiced, you've got this now. So the topic and the vibe of the cards you're kind of really setting into your own. So it's an infinity sign. And then nine is for nine fruits, so it's fulfillment and fruitfulness. Where does the fruit?

Sonia:

come in.

Sam:

Just because fruitfulness the word oh okay, that's where that comes in. And then so it's like fruition, attainment, fulfillment, like you got this. You finally got what you were trying to earn or searching for, and then perfect 10 it's completion. 10 out of 10, 10 out of 10. It's 10 out of 10, right, so that's how I'm remembering the numbers, and so now I can pull a minor number card and actually just be able to intuit what it means without having to go to the book.

Sonia:

That's great. Because, Tarot is not easy.

Sam:

No, it takes years. Right, I mean, it can it. I think that's why I was getting upset. I was getting upset at myself. I was getting really frustrated because who am I to just be as a novice pulling it's? It's the beginner's mind set again like who am I as a novice just to be pulling cards? And like what power? It's like a, what power do I have here?

Sam:

It's not necessarily a power you have to have. It's a practice like anything else, mm-hmm. And so the way that other people were explaining the tarot, just like what I just said, was just a whole bunch of words at you and it might not make sense. It probably doesn't make sense Because you need to categorize it how your brain works, yep. So that's why I was after last night I went down a whole rabbit hole.

Sonia:

You had to make it make sense for you. Yes, we all learned so differently, mm-hmm, and once I didn't fit all. I mean that that's a whole different conversation. But right, so this, this particular thing that you are really interested in and you want to use it in your therapeutic work you made it make sense for you.

Sam:

I made it make sense. Yeah, and like for the major arcana, a Lot of those like justice and strength and stuff are pretty straightforward and easier to remember. But like the emperor and like the Empress and stuff and what's a hero fan like what?

Sonia:

what.

Sam:

So then, like the ones that I couldn't really remember, I Renamed them's, like the fullest little, sweet little baby angel, because he's just starting, doesn't know yet, yeah, doesn't know numbers, don't know ABC's just figuring it out. And then like because I could not remember what the hero fan was, but it's like so I call him now the Pope, because it's tradition, it's spirituality, it's religion and skytons.

Sam:

So I was just I was also just like on chat GPT, like hey, what's another name for this? And like trying to Use an outside source to try to help me find different names for things, which is really nice. I called temperance, even though I know what it was. I called it spiritual weight watchers, because it's not, it's balance and moderation, because I used to. I used to fall into that whole like late weight loss cults because you know, like the whole, yeah, it was a big thing back in the day and so I was just like this reminds me of like snack Moderation, snack well, and all that really harmful stuff and I was like fast and so, and now temperance, the temperance card.

Sam:

It's just like really in my head because it's funny. Yeah spiritual weight watchers and it's I know this is terrible say the tower card. Uh-huh when the tower card comes. It's change, it's wiping the slate clean, it's. It's like it's just absolute upheaval. Uh-huh, what comes to mind for you?

Sonia:

A tornado 9-11.

Sam:

Is that parable? It's not great. It was so for me because it's the tower, so the word tower brings me right back to there. I mean, I was like 17, 18, when that happens.

Sonia:

Yeah, right in my brain. Oh yeah, huge moment Every time.

Sam:

I pull the tower card. I think of that day.

Sonia:

Yeah Well, okay, so it's up people.

Sam:

It's huge change.

Sonia:

Yes, we are not making fun of, absolutely not.

Sam:

It is just what, where my brain goes.

Sonia:

So I'm using that yeah.

Sam:

Yeah, people change.

Sonia:

It's not necessarily bad or good when I live in was bad yeah period.

Sam:

End of discussion. But it changed our everything everything going forward, mm-hmm and so for me I'm like okay, the tower card is upheaval and change. So it brings me mentally and emotionally back to that space. Yeah but I'm trying to put it's not good or bad, mm-hmm. Spin on that, even though it brings me back to a negative space.

Sonia:

Why did I think of the Washington Monument I?

Sam:

Mean that's a tall tower thing, the most random that is very random, but I don't know. But that's like the beauty of the mind. Yeah, you can try to figure out why it brought you back there and then connect the two things so it's solidified. I mean, if that's where your mind goes right off the bat, use it. That's why it's spiritual weight watchers.

Sonia:

Mm-hmm.

Sam:

What else? A chariot. I could never remember what chariot was, but I remember that they're on a chariot. There's usually like a warrior, mm-hmm, right, what is? A Spartan kind of situation, a gladiator situation? So then it, the chariot is the warrior. It's willpower, determination, triumph.

Sonia:

It's Russell Crowe, and it's Russell. Crowe, gladiator, gladiator, yes, yes.

Sam:

Yes, yeah, mm-hmm. So I'm trying to make real world for me, situational associations with the cards, mm-hmm. So then I don't have to rely on someone else telling me what they mean. They can mean what they're gonna mean for me.

Sonia:

Like lesson there.

Sam:

Because this is a way. It's not future, it's not fortune telling, it's not Predicting the future. It is tapping into our own tuition.

Sonia:

It's a tool providing some clarity, mm-hmm, if you're looking for that.

Sam:

Yeah, and that way, when we use it in session, I'm not going back to a book and assigning things. I can say. Here's key words. What does it mean for you?

Sonia:

I, you know, some of my sessions, if a client pulls a card because that's, you know, part of their daily practice or that's how they, you know, use tarot. Sometimes we don't even talk about it.

Sam:

Yeah it is pulled. That's for them.

Sonia:

That's it. And then we end session. There's no discussion, there's no discussion and and that's okay. You don't have to tell me what it means for you. Sometimes I do ask because if it's really relevant to this session and we're still working through things, but sometimes it's like better to just leave it.

Sam:

Let, that was for you, yeah.

Sonia:

So it's a fantastic tool for for those that it, that it works for, yeah those that want it.

Sam:

Do you have that conversation beforehand of? Like we can pull a card and you don't have to tell me about it. Like, what conversations do you have the clients around tarot?

Sonia:

I have the tarot cards just right there on the coffee table and I usually let my clients tell me if they want to engage with it. Yes, and We've. Usually. It's an organic conversation. It just happens when it needs to. Sometimes they pull a card and it's like, oh, this totally relates to what's been going on in life, or Hmm, that doesn't make sense. And then we'll talk about it. And If the body language is, I'm just gonna keep this for myself, then we respect that and we just leave it.

Sonia:

Yeah of course, yeah, because not every Not. What am I trying to say? I'm trying to say that if I do not know.

Sonia:

Why aren't you in my brain? If I have an agenda or if I have a, a operations model, it's not gonna apply to every client. So that's why I think I'm a fan of the organic. Let's just see how this works. And of course, we're gonna talk about confidentiality, blah, blah blah like that is standard. But when it comes to things like this, I just let it happen organically, because what works for one client might not work for another client. Some clients are really great at just being open. Others are more reserved, and that's something I just learn about them as we go.

Sam:

Well, that's an important part of the cards also. They're for you. They're for you At base. I don't need to know what it's like for you If it's important that you wanna share, or it's really touching or it's aligning with what you've been talking about, which normally happens just because, if you're tapping into yourself, there's a thing going on for you at the moment. But that's absolutely for them and I will sometimes even like if they're unsure if the card really speaks to them, pull a clarifying card and then take pictures of it.

Sam:

Yeah, all the time, yeah, take pictures so you know, and you can do your own research or look into it more and see if that vibes for you, or just stare at it for a while and see what happens.

Sonia:

It's another tool. It's another tool in therapy, and if it's not for you, it's not for you, but it is Great, it's here.

Sam:

Yeah, I'm just like I hate having. I mean this sounds bad, but not bad. It's that whole I need to be good at stuff thing. It's a little bit of that. It's just I didn't wanna be. I felt really really reliant on books and guides to be able to reference, to be able to do my own readings, and I don't like it.

Sam:

I just didn't like that part Did it feel like a crutch, yeah, no, yes, cause simultaneously I'm like I don't really do. I need all this time to really delve into this, to truly learn. Can it be done with association? That the way my brain works, and so I've been struggling, trying to find that, because it felt like I kept having to go back, because it's like, oh see, you don't have time to learn this, even though you really enjoy it. Good job.

Sam:

Good job, not making time for things that you like? And also, why don't you get it already? You've been pulling tarot for years, like what's the problem with you? And it's just like this little little gnawing, even though it wasn't pretty loud, but I was like, no, I can figure out a way that feels good for me to do this.

Sonia:

Yeah also there's no rush. Is there a rush?

Sam:

For me there was because it felt like, yes, I was pulling my own cards but I was relying not on the general meaning of the card to make my own intuitive meaning for me, but other people's interpretations, and that I don't like that Because sometimes there's some books, like the ones we read on the other episode, where it gives like a few keywords and then delves into it. Others just go into their own interpretation of it and I'm like, if I'm not getting a reading from you, I don't need your energy like that, I don't need your opinion of what this card might mean for me, because then it also clouds what it might connect for For me if I just do my own reading without someone else's interpretation.

Sonia:

Well, I like that you figured this out for yourself. If something doesn't work with the way that you learned, the way that you receive and absorb material, change it up. Yeah, there's no rules.

Sam:

Make your own deck if you want to. Yeah, what did you say? Make your own deck if you want to? Yes, you can do whatever you want.

Sonia:

Do whatever you want With free will.

Sam:

It's overwhelming. Well, just be legal about it. I mean, those are technically made up human rules too. We always end on this like an existential note. Yes, everything is made up and the points don't matter.

Sonia:

The points do matter.

Sam:

Because we made up the reasons why they matter.

Sonia:

There you go End of my life. I want to know how many gold stars I have earned.

Sam:

If you die before me. I will show up to however you want your funeral to be, and I will cover your shroud, your casket, your earn in so many gold stars Make it the good ones too.

Sonia:

Yeah, the thick foil ones. The thick foil ones, please. Thank you.

Sam:

You know what I will buy a cricket cutter and my own foil, the thickest I can find. And I will just peel those off and put them on. I love this for me. While whaling uncontrolled, I will make a show. I love this, you know. You know you love over dramatic things.

Sonia:

You know, when the time calls for it, I will do that for you. I love it. And then pull a tarot card, I'll make them rain.

Sam:

Yes, hey, if I'm gonna go out go out with a bang.

Sonia:

Okay, be like. Who is that woman? Why is she on the floor?

Sam:

flailing. Be like it's her practice, leave her alone. Yes, you know, in my community in my culture we outwardly grieve.

Sonia:

There you go. We grieve for the loss and the pain and we feel all of the heartache and we cry and we wail.

Sam:

I'm not here for the reserved stoic I'm not here for the reserved stoic. I want you to be devastated.

Sonia:

I want you to let everybody know how much you miss me, okay.

Sam:

And I also, if I don't really want this, but I won't be there, so who cares? If people say things about me like get up to speak, be honest. I didn't light up every room I walked into Right. Sometimes I was a raging bitch, sometimes you did not like me and sometimes I said inappropriate things. I did not have a smile for eternity. It's sort of crooked and I have an attitude problem.

Sonia:

She just made you feel so warm and love.

Sam:

She picked me up one night because I had a flat tire and then she berated me for 20 minutes on why I didn't know how to change the tire until I was crying. But then she brought me a burger and we went and watched movies.

Sonia:

Accurate right, mm-hmm, yeah, don't be telling lies at my memorial funeral. End of life celebration.

Sam:

I want every speech, every testimonial to start with. Do you know what this bitch did? Listen to this.

Sonia:

This bitch Brought me my favorite flowers and my favorite coffee on my birthday I love her so much.

Sam:

Then also told me to shut my mouth and slam the door, exactly.

Sonia:

Multi-faceted.

Sam:

Multi-faceted? Ah no, layers, she was a layered kid out of my brain. Who was it? When we said something and then we laughed because we said it at the same time and then apparently we had the same laugh and we also flailed the same In supervision. Oh good, yes.

Sonia:

I love our supervisor. She's great. She's great, you know, and I'm glad I'm here with you. Samantha, ew, don't make it awkward. No, no.

Sam:

Save it for my funeral, great, okay.

Sonia:

Well, you are older than me, so it's probably gonna happen first I love you so much.

Sam:

Statistically, statistically, I'm only like two and a half three years older than you.

Sonia:

Statistically, statistically, all right. Now that I have my inhaler, I'm good to go.

Sam:
